In the course of the meeting, M.Volynets, Committee Vice-Chairman, Yu.Kostenko and R.Bohdan, People´s Deputies of Ukraine, informed the Estonian parliament members about current conditions in Ukrainian energy sector, and commented upon legislative support of its functioning.
Thus, Ukraine is willing to develop atomic power engineering and industry, devoting due attention to the alternative supply of fuel, enhancement of safety by the nuclear energy use, storage of spent nuclear fuel and nuclear-waste disposal.
The participants of the meeting dwelled upon the common issues concerning energy policy, namely, prospects of cooperation in the field of transit potential use, search for alternative energy sources, employment of technologies for biogas production, wind-power engineering, and solar energy, extraction and use of peat.
Ukrainian and Estonian parliament members deem necessary to continue cooperation in the fields of energy saving and energy safety.
